WORK VISA

This visa Subclass is generally available for those with skills that are much needed in Australia for them to work in Australia temporarily. Once granted, the applicant can work in Australia for up to 4 years, and the visa is renewable. All overseas skilled persons and overseas students are eligible to apply if they have an employment sponsor. There are generally three steps involved in applying for a temporary business visa:

Step 1: Lodging an employer sponsorship application from the employer
Step 2: Lodging a business nomination which describes the position
Step 3: The final step is lodging a visa application from the applicant

From 2nd of April, 2005, Immigration Department has created a pathway for people who has been working in Australia for 2 years to gain permanent residency with a smooth process. The process has been streamlined for these skilled people with Australian Work Experience to become permanent residence if the employer is happy with their services. The requirement is that the applicant would need to be under 45 years age and has vocational English.
